The fire department (Rob Catlender)

This is a composition I wrote on the occasion of the 25th birthday of the Sea Sound Big Band. A dvd is comming up and will be recorded at the beautiful Fire Department-Museum in the Dutch town Hellevoetsluis.

The composition starts with the fire-trucks starting their new mission. The theme brings them to the fire where the chief fireman starts to give his instruction in a trombone-solo.

The most brave fireman are the saxophones who go into the house on fire. After that the heavy work is done by the brass section in a question and answer play. When the fire is under control they happily go home.
